Rabat - After getting a warm reception from Moroccans last year, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise said he enjoyed his stay in Morocco shooting the fifth installment of the Mission Impossible series.
“I loved that time in Morocco. It was beautiful,” said Tom Cruise in an interview with the celebrity people talk show “Scoop With Raya”, aired on Saudi Arabia’s MBC.
Asked by Raya if he tried Moroccan food or met Moroccan people to discover Moroccan culture, the 52-year-old actor said he did.
“The best way to know people is to work with them. The car chase we did in Rabat and in Rabat stair, we felt that the whole community is working with us,” he explained, adding that he was very excited about that.
In August 2014, Tom Cruise was given a warm reception as he arrived in a luxury car in Rabat to shoot scenes for the movie.
Scenes were filmed in several Moroccan cities, namely in Rabat, Marrakech, and Casablanca.
The movie, which is being written and directed by Christopher Mc Quarrie, also contains shots from the Austrian capital Vienna.
Highly acclaimed by Hollywood producers, Morocco is one of the most popular film destinations and home to many successful international films, the most recent being the American film “Son of God,” produced by Roma Downey & Mark Burnett, released in February 2014.
