Rabat - Egyptian Cultural Minister Hilmi al-Namnam announced on Wednesday in Cairo, that Morocco will be the guest of honor at the 48th annual Cairo International Book Fair in 2017.
During the closing ceremony of the 47th exhibition, Minister al-Namnam said that the book fair is keen on honoring a variety of works from different guest countries, and ”if Bahrain was the guest of honor this year from the Gulf, next year will be Morocco from the ocean,” he said .
850 publishers from 34 countries took part in the exhibition, consisting of 50 foreign publishers, 250 Arab publishers and 550 Egyptian publishers
He pointed out that the 48th session of the Cairo International Book Fair will be held between January 27 and February 10, 2017.
The Kingdom of Bahrain was the guest of honor at the 47th session of the Cairo Book Fair, which took place between the 27th ofJanuary and 10th of February.
Morocco participated in the last edition of the Cairo International Book Fair with many of its most important publishing houses; among them were the House Al Amane, House Al Twahid, as well as the Unifying Arab Cultural Center, and House of Culture, the center of the Moroccan cultural heritage.
The Moroccan section at the exhibition included more than a thousand books and more than 10 thousand copies of various types of reference books.
