Rabat - Moroccan officials from the Culture Ministry paid, on Aug. 29-31, a working visit to Beijing during which they discussed with their Chinese counterparts ways to strengthen cultural relations between Morocco and China.
This visit, at the invitation of the state administration for the press, publishing, radio, film and television in China, a government-run regulatory body, was marked by talks on means to strengthen the Moroccan-Chinese cultural relations and the implementation of the agreement to be signed soon between the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and the Chinese body, said a statement from the Ministry of Culture.
The agreement is meant to translate into the Chinese language Moroccan literary works and publish them by Chinese publishing houses and the translation into Arabic of Chinese works and their publication by Moroccan publishing houses.
The Moroccan delegation was composed of Hassan El Ouazzani, director of the Book Department at the Ministry of Culture, Abdeljalil Nadem who was representing the Moroccan Dar Toubkal publishing house, and Abdelkader Retnani, representing Moroccan "La Croisée des Chemins" publishing house.
