Rabat - Prominent Indian director Anurag Basu has reportedly determined to shoot scenes of his new movie “Jaso Jagga” in Morocco.
After shooting in Thailand and South Africa, Anurag Basu will soon come to Morocco in order to film the rest of the movie’s scenes. The film features Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, and Govinda as lead actors.
The movie narrates the story of a teenage detective who searches for his missing father. It is due to release on June 3, 2016.
Morocco is distinguished as an inspired and safe country in the region. It has recently become one of the most popular destinations for worldwide filmmakers. Several blockbuster films have been shot in Morocco, including “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk,” “Les Nouvelles Aventures d’Aladin,” and “Mission Impossible.”
Recently, UK news website “The Guardian” has ranked Morocco among Top 10 Destinations for filmmakers in the world.
The filmmakers see Morocco as an exotic and spiritual place by virtue of its picturesque and stunning landscapes of antique cities, as well as Ouarzazate, which is renowned as the “Moroccan Hollywood.” The Kingdom has hosted movies such as “Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “The Man Would Be King,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” and “Babel.”
